Paul is a Lecturer at the University of Cape Town in the Department of Electrical engineering, and a founding member of the African Robotics Unit. He joined the UCT faculty in 2019.

Prior to returning to Cape Town, Paul received his Ph.D. in Engineering Science from Oxford University under the guidance of Prof. Paul Newman.
